This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to create, expose and
mount a VPSA NFS file system as a Storage Repository (SR) of Citrix hypervisor.
For supported Citrix versions with Zadara Storage please refer to :
Creating Server(s) record and a NFS volume on the Zadara GUI
Create server record for all Citrix Server(s)
From the Zadara GUI, highlight Servers and select Add then Manual
A Create server window will open, enter:
- Citrix server(s) name
- Select Linux for OS
- Enter IP address for single server or CIDR Block for multiple Citrix servers
Then press Create
Create NFS volume and attach to Citrix server(s)
From the Zadara VPSA GUI, highlight Volumes and select Create then Create NAS Share
A Create Share Volume window will open, enter:
- Volume name
Then press Submit ,and Yes on the following pop-up windows
Attache the new NFS volume to the Citrix server(s)
From the Zadara GUI, highlight Volumes , then highlight the newly created NFS volume , the select Servers and Attach to Server(s)
On the Attach Volume to Server(s) windows select the newly created volume and NFS for Access Type, then press Submit. Press Yes on the confirmation windows and OK on the following windows
Creating a new NFS Storage Repository (SR) on XenCenter
Before you start, please make sure Citrix Hypervisor network configuration is according to Citrix documentation and best practice https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-hypervisor/networking.html
Check that Zadara VPSA can be reached by pinging from the Citrix Hypervisor console to the frontend IP address of the VPSA.
From the XenCenter GUI, highlight Citrix server ( or servers pool ) and select New Storage
On the Choose the type for new storage window select NFS and press Next
Enter the Name for the new Storage Repository, and press Next
Go back to the Zadara GUI
highlight Volumes , then highlight the newly created NFS volume and copy the NFS Export Path from the Volume’s properties
Paste the NFS Export Path on to the Share Name and press Scan
Cirtix will scan the connection and if successful the Finish button will highlight.
Select the NFS version , and press Finish. The new NFS Storage Repository will appear under the Citrix server name.
