Some of our customers have encountered random '.nfsxxxxxxxx' files appearing in the root of their mounts / volumes which consume space. The reason for this is explained below.

Resolution:
VPSA volumes should be mounted using NFSv4.0.
Cause:
Per the NFS FAQ:
http://nfs.sourceforge.net/#faq_d2
When a file with an open file handle is deleted on an NFS share, the client renames it to one of these .nfs<x> files so the file handle continues to function. Once all file handles have been closed, the original NFS client that requested the delete is supposed to remove the file.
