Zadara Storage has noticed that the VMware iSCSI software adapter has a maximum throughput per path of around 600 - 800 MB/s. In order to achieve higher throughput it is advised to add additional iSCSI paths to the iSCSI devices. To add additional iSCSI paths additional VMkernel adpaters are created for each physical port and bound to the iSCSI software adapter.
Please see the following article for a step-by-step guide to configuring iSCSI software adapter port binding for Round Robin multipathing https://zadarastorage.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000501786
Repeat the steps in the guide to add an equal number of additional VMkernels to each port. After adding the additional VMkernels, bind them to the iSCSI software adapter.
The resulting setup should look like below. In this example we have a total of 4 paths, 2 going to port 1, 2 going to port 2. Zadara recommends a minimum of 4 paths per device, though more many be necessary to reach maximum throughput.
