Migrating a volume between pools
This document describes how to migrate a volume between pools using a Zadara Storage VPSA. Customers who want to move a volume to a different type of disk, to a different RAID level or to a pool with a different drive count will use this feature.
This document is a quick, step-by-step guide to getting started with a VPSA. For an in depth review see the VPSA users guide.
Audience
This document is designed for an audience with a basic familiarity shared storage and Zadara VPSAs.
Time
It will take most administrators about 5 minutes to complete the steps.
Prerequisites
- A VPSA with a volume and at least two storage pools.
The Process
- Migrate a volume
Migrate your volume -
Select the volume you want to migrate, click the “Data Services” button and select “Migrate”.
In the Migrate Volume dialog select the destination pool and click “Submit”
You can monitor the status of the volume migration by clicking on the “Migration Status” tab -
